About the Role:
As a 2nd Officer, you will be responsible for safe navigation, voyage planning, and the maintenance of navigational charts and equipment. You will assist in cargo operations on a General Cargo Vessel and ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with international maritime regulations and company standards.
Job Description:
- Responsible for safe navigation and watchkeeping duties onboard.
- Prepare and update passage plans for all voyages.
- Maintain and correct nautical charts and publications.
- Monitor and operate navigational equipment such as radar, GPS, and ECDIS.
- Assist the Chief Officer during cargo operations and ensure proper handling of cargo.
- Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL).
- Maintain safety equipment and participate in emergency drills.
- Keep accurate records of navigation and voyage data.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1–2 years experience as 2nd Officer.
- Experience on General Cargo Vessel is preferred.
- Valid STCW certificates and seafarer documents.
- Good knowledge of navigation, ECDIS, and safety procedures.
- Good communication skills in English.
